The Secrets of the Vaganova Method
Taught to you first hand.
This course offers special, individual, short, intensive and effective sessions in the Vaganova technique. This technique offers an extraordinary system to take control of your body. You will develop the knowledge of how to use your body in order to dance elegantly, with expression, yet without injuries, like the best Russian dancers do.
The Vaganova technique will allow you to learn very difficult technical elements with no risk of injury, even over time. Using this technique your lines will improve for your muscles will decrease in size and weight, yet increase in power. After completing this course your body will be full of energy, very flexible, elastic and light. You will always be ready to dance. The Vaganova technique applies to both contemporary and classical dance. It is designed for both serious students and teachers.
During the two week course you will study about 4-5 hours a day and 6 days a week. Every day will include one private or semiprivate session. In addition students will watch others study to better understand the principals of the Vaganova method. Teachers will teach practice sessions of the methods they are learning. There are also additional private and semiprivate sessions using the Vaganova technique, such as; rehearsals, points, stretching, character, as well as contemporary dancing.
Also available to students is a large selection of rare and exclusive video tapes from Russia. Students are encouraged to watch them both alone and with professional explanation. This is a wonderful way to add new pieces to your repertoire.
After completion of this course additional training may be available to gifted students. This is dependent upon my schedule.
